The PROFITS Group was founded in 1999 'to facilitate the beneficial adoption of intelligent software to achieve improvement in product formulation', and is based at the UK's University of Bradford. Funded by leading pharmaceutical companies, the group rovides training, consultancy and awareness services, as well as pilot/prototype development. PROFITS concentrates on those artificial intelligence technologies that offer major opportunities to formulate products in a radically improved way - Knowledge Based Systems, Neural Computing and Data Mining. Intelligensys software has been tested and validated in PROFITS before its general release.
KnowledgeBench offers knowledge engineering to build rule-based expert systems. Their product was developed in 2004 in close collaboration with GlaxoSmithKline and AstraZeneca. It is the latest development of rule-based systems to support new product development from a product line stretching back to the late 1980s. At that time, a collaborative project was set up between Shell Lubricating Oils, Shering Agrochemicals and Logica Cambridge Ltd under the auspices of the government-sponsored Alvey research programme.
Novidec offers consulting, software, training and contract services in decision making and information management, with an emphasis on data analysis, statistics, predictive modeling and stochastic simulation. Novidec offers innovative solutions based on proven scientific methods, resulting in a rational approach to the most intractable business problems.
