The Handbook of Pharmaceutical Excipients is an
internationally acclaimed reference work, recognized as one of the most
authorative and comprehensive sources of information on excipients used in
pharmaceutical formulations.
Jointly published by the American Pharmacists Association
and the Pharmaceutical Press (the publications arm of the Royal Pharmaceutical
Society of Great Britain), it is written by over 120 pharmaceutical scientists
from around the world, expert in the manufacture, analysis or use of
pharmaceutical excipients. It now contains 300 fully referenced excipient
monographis, so provides an essential reference for those involved in the
development, production, control or regulation of pharmaceutical preparations.
50 monographs are completely new to this edition, including
Agar, Boric acid, Erythritol, Inulin and Lauric acid. The other 250 monographs
have been updated and revised completely for this edition. All monographs in
the Handbook are thoroughly cross-referenced and indexed so that excipients may
be identified by either chemical, non-proprietary or trade names.
One of the many reviews of the previous edition (also edited
by Ray Rowe) states "There is absolutely no doubt that the Handbook of
Pharmaceutical Excipients has become an indispensible volume on the shelf of
every pharmaceutical library in existence and it needs to be on the personal
bookshelf of just about every formulator I know".
