Our simulation range, as well as our 'intelligent' products INForm and FormRules are being used in several universities for teaching and research. We recognize the important contribution made by academe, by offering substantial discounts on the list price of our software to those engaged in academic research and teaching.

Teaching

Today it is increasingly important to make sure that students are familiar with the most up to date techniques. And often, lab space is at a premium, so having some computer-based projects can provide a valuable alternative. For example, the University of Bradford School of Pharmacy is using tailored copies of INForm and FormRules, preloaded with specific data, for some of their final-year projects. Students can discover for themselves the key relationships in data, learning about the formulations under investigation in an interesting and stimulating way. At the same time, they are learning some of the most cutting-edge techniques used in industry.

Our simulation software also allows students to learn by exploring the effects of changing different variables - ingredients or process conditions. Changing different options, and seeing immediately what happens, can provide a powerful learning experience.

Academic Research

Our software has been cited in a number of published scientific papers. The 'intelligent' software extracts maximum information from your experimental data, and with full control over the training parameters, you can investigate how exactly to et the best models and rules. The simulation packages (especially DryAdd and MacroPac) can also provide valuable insights into the interpretation of observed physical phenomena, so using them to complement your experimentation results in a strong and compelling research project.

Getting papers into the published literature is facilitated by the ease of use of the software, and by its previous track record.

Licensing Options

We offer special pricing for licences for use of our software in academic research and teaching. Typically these prices are about 25% of the cost of an industrial licence.

Short-term multiple-user licences can be arranged if you wish to use our software in coursework.
