Support and Maintenance

Support and maintenance on all our products is optional, and is provided on an annual basis. Please bear in mind that if you buy a 'perpetual' licence without maintenance, it may not be future-proofed for example if new versions of Windows are released.

What does support and maintenance give me?

The support component entitles you to help with using the program, by e-mail, fax or telephone, direct from our UK office.

The maintenance component includes all upgrades produced during the maintenance period. It also provides a replacement key service - if your key is lost because of hardware failure we can issue another (although no more than 1 key per year). Or, if you are having problems moving your key from one machine to another, we can issue a new key upon receipt of a valid 'kill code'.

So, in addition to it giving you the latest upgrades, you can think of support and maintenance as 'insurance', giving you peace of mind knowing that in the event of hardware or software problems, you are covered.

Don't want to take out support and maintenance?

That's not a problem, but, as we said above, please note that a 'perpetual' licence without maintenance may not work indefinitely - for example if new versions of Windows are released. For customers who do not want the support and maintenance option, though, upgrades may be purchased separately once they are released.

Please also note that if you lose your licence and you're unmaintained, then to cover our costs we will need to make a charge to issue another key - especially if yours is an older version that we no longer support, since extra work is involved for us. There will also be a modest charge, in line with the amount of work involved, associated with providing keys to move the software from one machine to another, even if you can send us a 'kill code'.
